M-EC is a privately-owned and multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy, operating nationally. We serve both private and public sector clients including residential, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, education and healthcare.


We seek to appoint an experienced Marketing and Creative Content Manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated individual who has the desire to develop and deliver creative internal and external communications across our platforms and in line with the company mission and values.

In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in championing best practices, identifying and pursuing opportunities to increase our brand exposure across all online and offline channels. Your expertise will support you in managing and progressing effective communications and campaigns to support client retention and acquisition. As our brand ambassador, you will be accountable for ensuring the day-to-day creative output is on brand and adheres to all guidelines, whilst identifying opportunities to develop and innovate.

The position will be based at our Leicestershire office, with the opportunity to undertake hybrid working once established in the role.

Job requirements

Key role responsibilities:

    • Management of all company website activity – delivering continual improvements and innovations;
    • Carry out data analysis exercises in collaboration on revenue streams and company performance looking for additional revenue opportunities;
    • Produce copy for company news articles, case studies and website text;
    • Act as brand custodian with both internal and external stakeholders and develop continual improvements to keep branding relevant and professional. Manage and maintain company standard documents;
    • Design and deliver marketing materials including graphic design for company brochure, technical capability brochures, case studies, promotional gifts, leaflets, event invites, etc.;
    • Assisting the senior management team with tender submissions and bids, including preparation of submission documents, graphic design and overall presentation;
    • Preparation of high-quality presentations for Directors and other senior staff, using PowerPoint or similar software;
    • Manage marketing budget;
    • Devise and implement an internal communications strategy for key message distribution and engagement with all staff;
    • Produce company newsletter(s) obtaining relevant material from senior management team and staff, and ensure timely delivery to a high standard;
    • Monitor daily news, industry and other relevant media and identify key topics for comment by key expert staff, and utilise a range of multimedia tools to promote company expertise and reputation in relation to such news topics;
    • Create a social media strategy to deliver key objectives;
    • Devise and implement targeted marketing campaigns to support business development/marketing initiatives by Directors as and when required;
    • Organising client corporate hospitality, receptions and other events;
    • Follow a continued professional development/programme of training and achieve minimum of 12 days continuing professional development (CPD) per year;
    • Work collaboratively across the business, maintaining good relationships with staff to address marketing challenges and issues, mitigating risks and provide marketing awareness training to all staff;
    • Attendance at business development events and meetings with team, clients and suppliers as required;
    • Support the inhouse transport team with creative newsletters for residential travel packs sent on behalf of the client; and
    • Other duties as may occasionally be required to support the needs of the business.

Key skills, experience and attributes required:

    • A creative-minded person with an eye for detail;
    • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with a record of delivering successful projects in a timely manner;
    • Strong project and people management skills;
    • Experience in managing external agencies, as well as in-house teams;
    • An understanding of digital channels to ensure content is delivered with best-practice in mind;
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
    • Experience in managing creative projects to successful completion;
    • Broad marketing experience, enabling different and alternative perspectives;
    • Experience in developing and implementing effective marketing and creative improvements;
    • Proven track record of continuous improvement;
    • A collaborative team player, with strong influencing skills;
    • Highly organised with an ability to prioritise and drive multiple projects simultaneously;
    • Able to work under own initiative;
    • Strong sense of urgency and a desire to see tasks completed on time and in full;
    • Excellent in building trust and relationship;
    • Strong IT skills – including Microsoft Office and the Adobe suite of graphic design software packages or similar;
