Based in Hugglescote, Leicestershire

Full time – Permanent

Salary range £17,500 to £22,500 per annum, depending on skill and experience

 

M-EC is a privately-owned engineering and environmental multi-disciplinary consultancy, operating nationally from four offices and employing over 50 staff. We serve both private and public sector clients including residential, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, education and healthcare.

 

The Company is currently undergoing an exciting change programme and we are seeking an Assistant Utilities Technician to join our team in our Leicestershire office. The main focus of the Utilities section is to undertake the assessment and design of utility services for new developments.  If you are a CAD technician with experience/interest in the utilities sector, looking for an exciting challenge then this position could be the perfect role for you.

 

Key role responsibilities:

  • Obtaining records of existing services from statutory undertakers;
  • Coordination of utility services for new developments and enquiries for new supplies;
  • Determining diversion/protection works to existing apparatus;
  • Analysis and production of technical reports and drawings;
  • Co-ordination with other disciplines/offices and client liaison;
  • Working collaboratively with engineers and other technicians to deliver quality evidence led reports;
  • Implement high design standards and deliver BIM (Building Information Modelling) solutions to projects; and
  • Personal development and training with a view to taking a more senior role in the near future.


Requirements

Key skills, experience and attributes required:

  • Minimum 2 A levels in relevant subjects or equivalent Level 3 qualification;
  • User of AutoCAD with ability to prepare CAD drawings to a standard suitable for inclusion in reports;
  • Use various computer software programs which will include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • Ability to work within a wider team and also able work under own initiative; and

  • Excellent organisational skills and able to prioritise workload.
